So much attention is given to the experience we are having through our sensory organs ... and our interpretation of this experience as something that makes us feel good about ourselves and about life or something that makes us feel bad about ourselves and about life. We are constantly going "out of ourselves" to derive our identity from our experiences. Even the experiences in our psyche are "outside of us", in the sense that we have moved away from the awareness of Being that is our true ground and our true nature.
