We thought you might enjoy some of Amoda’s quotes. Some of these are taken from her books and some from events. We regularly post on her Twitter (X) page, her Instagram and Facebook. Join her there to stay in touch.
Freedom begins when the cracks in our inner world appear. When it dawns on us that every belief, opinion, hope, expectation and need is built on shifting sands. When the knot of ego starts to untangle itself, because holding it together is exhausting and futile.
The light within you, when recognized in all circumstances, has the capacity to embrace everything. This uncompromising acceptance is your true nature.
It is the unbounded space of consciousness that is here, beneath and beyond the story of who you think you are.
The attempt to avoid meeting what scares you, prevents you from this deeper knowing of your true nature.
In emptiness, mind dissolves into sky, heart is uncontainable, and body is permeable. In emptiness, there is space inside .. and now the light can filter in. Now life can flow through you, unimpeded by self-imposed obstructions.
The mind wants to accumulate knowledge, as if knowledge is proof of our progress and status and worthiness. But I tell you, do not worship words.
The treasure is in the unknown, in that which is beyond understanding.
Meet reality without being someone,
Be tender and courageous,
Face what you fear, and how you feel about yourself and the world,
Slowly things change.
The world is already noisy with opinion, belief, argument and violence,
that’s what we see, that’s what the world is, mostly.
So it starts within us. Yes it makes a difference.
When we naturally, organically, move in life, act in life, relate in life from an inner silence.
Every time you turn away from or deny what is here in your experience, you add to the darkness of the world because you are divided within.
Every time you deeply accept or open to what is here, you set the world alight because you are radiant with an inner oneness.
In putting our attention on the desire for a transcendent state of mind that proves we have the precious trophy of awakening in our hands, we miss something very simple and very direct that is available to us right here and now—the softness of the heart.
The bare truth is revealed only when we see with the eyes of the heart. It means seeing things as they are. No frills, no adjustments ... just stark naked awareness. Truth is the direct experience of what is.
